First medical iPhone app gets regulatory blessing

The US Food and Drug Administration last week approved the country’s first smart phone app for medical diagnoses.

As Scientific American reports, the program, called Mobile MIM, allows physicians to view images from various medical scans from the comfort of their portable devices.
